Overview Details Hatfield Car Park Hatfield, Hertfordshire BrightSpace were appointed to produce proposals for a 420-space multi-storey car park within the town centre of Hatfieleld, Hertfordshire. The layout and design of the car park is split over four floors and includes 18 disabled spaces, 10 parent/child spaces, and 8 electric vehicle charging bays. Located on The Common car park, it will also feature iconic aircraft designs, symbolic of Hatfield’s proud aviation heritage. The concept of the building is to refer to the more recent history of the aviation industry and the effect that it had on the town of Hatfield. Many people would have worked on the aerodrome designing and manufacturing planes that have become iconic. There remains a sense of pride that Hatfield was such an intrinsic part of some significant leaps forward in aviation history, and to clad the new carpark in something that can reference this heritage seems befitting. As of 6th February 2020, planning permission was granted by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council. Adam Wood, head of infrastructure and regeneration at Hertfordshire LEP, said: "We are delighted that planning permission has been granted for the new space-efficient multi-storey car park, vital to unlocking land for the continued regeneration of Hatfield town centre."
